The Next Gen Marriott Business Council supports Marriott International’s mission to build the most loyal and valuable travel community by serving and welcoming all. Focused on engaging the next generation, the council taps into fresh ideas and mindsets while representing the best of Marriott’s future.
Next Gen councils connect associates from managed and franchised hotels across Marriott’s 30+ brands within a city or region, creating a professional network. Council members lead local initiatives that positively impact communities, foster career development, build brand recognition, and bring hotel leaders together to discuss market-wide strategies.
In 2024, I led and designed the rebrand of the Next Gen Marriott Business Council, formerly known as Junior Business Councils. The rebrand aimed to align with the council’s youthful and energetic voice, reflecting its primary members: Millennials and Gen Z.
My pre-design work involved studying the brief, analyzing existing branding, researching the target audience, and exploring current trends. The creative assets developed for the rebrand included a primary logo, 100+ localized logos, comprehensive brand identity and guidelines, social media guidelines and assets (avatars, posts, stories, LinkedIn banners), a PowerPoint template, a toolkit deck, and a sizzle video.
This rebrand was a dynamic and impactful project that modernized the council’s visual identity while positioning it for future growth.
