The name of this men's Major League Soccer team is inspired by Arizona's beautiful cacti, the saguaro, native to the desert of Tucson called the Sonoran Desert. Saguaro cacti can withstand rough terrain and grow up to forty feet tall. There is a need for a MLS team within the city of Tucson which is an opportunity for this new team, Tucson Saguaros, to be implemented into the city and league. A thoughtful team with curated personality was created to personify the Saguaro cacti as a team and mascot.
